Ok. That’s kind of a paradox. Let us explain.
Since The Fedora’d One took over in February 2007, he has presided over a flopped medical school opened a student recreation center and health sciences building (both started under Leon) and secured two six-figure donations with significant matching requirements.
TFO and Dr. Marky Mark Parsons better sing pretty to donors, or that could be a flop, too.
What did Leon’s predecessor at Colorado State-Pueblo accomplish in his four years (2006-2010)?
From the Pueblo Chieftan:
(Colorado Attorney General Joe) Garcia was awarded the President’s Medallion for Distinguished Service to the university. Garcia was president of CSU-Pueblo from 2006-10 and is credited with several accomplishments during his term, including:
- Doubling the number of on-campus residents and increasing the overall head count by more than 20 percent.
- Implementing a four-year graduation incentive program that rewards students who earn their bachelor’s degree in four years.
- Vastly improving university facilities, such as the opening of a $13 million football and track stadium, a $22 million renovation to Massari Arena, a new Student Recreation Field, a new $10 million Student Recreation Center and a three-building residence hall complex. A $24 million renovation to the University Library was recently completed.
You’ve got a year to match that, Bruce.
